STAYC (Hangul: 스테이씨; Romanization: seuteisshi; Japanese: ステイシー; Romanization: suteishii) is a 6-member girl group from High Up Entertainment. They are the first group from the company, ran by of well-known producing duo Black Eyed Pilseung (블랙아이드필승).
Their name stands for “Star To A Young Culture”, which was the same title as their debut single.
Their fandom name is SWITH (스윗) – in English, it combines the “S” from STAYC and the word “with”, to mean the fans are always with STAYC. In Korean, the pronunciation is seuwit, which sounds sonically similar to “sweet”.
STAYC debuted on 12 November 2020.
