Introduction
IVE (Hangul: 아이브; Romanization: aibeu) is a 6-member girl group from Starship Entertainment.
Their name is a contraction for “I have”, expressing the aspiration to show the audience confidently what they already have, rather than tell a story of growth.[1][2]
Their fandom name, DIVE (다이브), reflects their group introduction greeting, “DIVE into IVE.”[x]
Their official lightstick is named the “IHABONG (아이해봉)“, a combination of “I have” from “IVE” and “bong”, meaning stick in Korean.
Members Wonyoung and Yujin both competed on MNet’s Produce 48, finishing in 1st and 5th place, respectively, becoming members of the shows project girl group, IZ*ONE.
They debuted on December 1, 2021.
